Email Platform
Most automation tools will send email if you bring your own provider, configure the DNS records yourself, and handle bounces on your own. Formt ships the whole email layer: sending infrastructure, guided domain setup, engagement tracking, automatic suppression, and AI generation that hands Send Email a finished subject and body.
What's included
From sourcing the audience to acting on what happens after the send, every layer below is a piece other tools expect you to assemble from separate services. In Formt it's one platform, already wired together.
The audience for a send comes straight from your systems: a HubSpot list, a Google Sheet, a CSV, customers pulled from Xero. It's read fresh on every run and filtered with workflow steps, so there's no list to import, sync, or keep alive.
AI Generate's Email mode drafts a subject and body for each contact, tuned to the email's purpose: outreach, newsletter, re-engagement. Put the Research Agent upstream and every opener can reference something real and current about its recipient.
Every organisation sends through its own dedicated Postmark server, so your sender reputation is yours alone. Another customer's bad list can't touch your deliverability. Two sending modes cover the range: Formt Domain to start sending instantly, Custom Domain to send as your own brand.
Paste your domain and Formt generates the DNS records to add: a DKIM record and a return-path record. Add them at your registrar and Formt verifies them automatically, flipping your sending mode live the moment they check out. No third-party dashboard, no guesswork.
The Email Tracking step looks up what happened to any email a workflow sent: delivered, opened and how many times, clicked, bounced, marked as spam, suppressed. It returns typed fields a Condition step can branch on, so engagement drives the workflow instead of sitting in a report.
Hard bounces and spam complaints go straight onto your organisation's suppression list, and suppressed addresses are skipped on every future send. Marketing emails carry an unsubscribe link that works without a login, plus one-click unsubscribe headers for Gmail and Apple Mail.
Sending modes
Nothing to configure before your first email goes out. Verify your own domain when you're ready to send campaigns under your own name.
Sends from noreply@formt.com, live the moment you sign up. The fastest way to get workflow output into an inbox: reports, digests, and notifications to you or your team, with no DNS records to add and nothing to verify.
Sends from your own verified domain, to recipients pulled dynamically from your data: a HubSpot list, a spreadsheet, a form submission. Required for marketing campaigns and outreach, where deliverability and brand recognition decide whether the email gets read.

AI email generation
Email mode isn't a text box with a prompt. You pick the purpose, describe the audience and the goal, and Formt applies prompt engineering tuned to that purpose: a cold outreach email and a re-engagement note follow different rules. The subject line and body come back as separate outputs, wired straight into Send Email.
And personal at scale doesn't mean unsupervised: every draft can hold in the Task Manager before it sends. Spot-check the batch, edit the outliers, approve the rest in one action.
The loop
Email in Formt is a loop, not a blast. The audience comes from your live data, engagement comes back as data the workflow branches on, and the results are written back to the system you started from.
Instead of an email platform
An email platform is its own world to run: audiences, journeys, template editors, and a subscription priced for a marketing department. In Formt, email is a set of steps inside the workflows you're already building, and the audience is the data you already keep.
How it compares
Most automation tools send email through whatever SMTP provider you connect. Here's what that leaves on your plate, next to what Formt includes.
| Capability | Other tools | Formt |
|---|---|---|
| Sending infrastructure | Bring your own: Gmail, SendGrid, Mailgun. Another account to set up, pay for, and monitor. | Included. A dedicated Postmark server per organisation. |
| Domain setup | Manual, in your email provider's dashboard. | Guided inside Formt: records generated, verification automatic. |
| Bounce handling | Yours to manage in the provider's console. | Automatic suppression. Bounced addresses are skipped on future sends. |
| Engagement tracking | Not built in. Bolt on an analytics tool or poll the provider's API. | A workflow step. Opens, clicks, bounces, and complaints as typed data. |
| Unsubscribe handling | Build it yourself, or route through a separate email service. | Token links and one-click headers on every marketing email. |
| AI email generation | A generic LLM step returning one text blob. | Purpose-aware generation, with subject and body as separate outputs. |
